By train

From Fiumicino Airport take the Leonardo Express toward Rome Termini station.

From there, there are two options:

1) Take the line A metro and get off Valle Aurelia AT station, or line B metro until Ostiense. Then, take the Roma Ostiense - Viterbo Porta Romana train (every hour on weekdays).

2) Take the train to Orte (usually East platform). From there take a train, or get the Bus COTRAL bus to Viterbo and get off at Porta del Carmine, or alternatively get a taxi (book it in advance, the fixed price is 40€).

 

 

By car

From the highway A1 exit at Orte, continuing on the Orte-Viterbo main road. Exit at Viterbo Centro, Terme, then take the left. Go straight on towards the center up to the roundabout. Take the second exit and enter Porta di Valle Faul. Go straight up to the car parking on the left side. On the opposite side of the road there are the elevators for reaching the historical centre. Since the circulation within the historical centre is limited, the best option is to park the car and to reach it by foot. It is possible to park also at Porta S. Pietro or Porta del Carmine.
